Health Department Supplies

With the aim to improve, promote, protect and restore the health of working children and their families, the Working Boys' Center's Health Program provides the following:

Medical Department

The main tasks of the medical department are to strengthen preventive programs, educate families about health care, conduct periodic checkups of healthy children and adolescents, coordinate pre-natal and postnatal care, update medical information and make inter-institutional contacts and agreements.

In one year, the medical department serves around 6,300 patients .  97% of them are cared for in our own facilities and only 3% of the patients are referred to other clinics or hospitals to see specialists for more complicated cases.  The primary reasons WBC members visited the doctor were for treatment of illnesses, well child check-ups and follow up visits from external treatments.

Laboratory

We have a clinical laboratory which does basic health exams.  3,490 exams are conducted in one year.  The top fives exams were to test blood counts, blood chemistry, parasites, lipid profiles and gram stains.

Dental Department

Our dental department serves three main areas: oral hygiene and care, cavity prevention and early dental attention for children under six, school-aged children and adolescents.  It also treats endodontics.  The dental department attends around 1,770 patients in one year.
